404 Guard shield

Getting started

It means the website couldn’t find the page or file at that address. A person may have followed an old link, or a bot may be trying an address that never existed.

No. It reduces the WordPress work caused by missing-page and missing-file requests it can handle. It doesn’t remove malware, fix vulnerable plugins or replace a firewall.

Its main check is the requested website address. That helps with missing-page traffic even when the requests come from different IP addresses.

Missing pages can keep the proper 404 status that search engines expect. Check your safe list and any redirects so real pages and search visitors can still reach the right content.

The introductory price is $97 AUD for a 12-month licence on one website, including GST. The normal price is $199 AUD. Optional installation is charged separately.

The trial covers 500 protected 404 hits. Once they’re used, 404 Guard switches to Monitor mode. Protection stops until a suitable licence or allowance is available.

Pages, redirects and test results

If a page or form uses an address that isn’t on the safe list, you may need to add it. Start by checking your main pages and forms. If something stops working, switch to Monitor mode while you check the address.

No. Keep your security plugin, updates and backups. 404 Guard helps reduce the work caused by requests for pages and files that don’t exist.

Yes, for supported redirect plugins. Their old addresses can go on the safe list so your redirect plugin can send visitors to the right page. Check your important redirects before turning protection on.

Switch to Monitor mode while you check what’s happening. Email [email protected] with your settings and test results. A test that hasn’t finished doesn’t mean your website answered instantly.

Switch to Monitor mode and check the exact web address that should work. Add it to the safe list and test it again before turning protection back on. You can lock a safe entry if you need to keep it on the list.

Contact [email protected] and let us know how many websites you manage. We can arrange a licence for multiple websites.
